The Baskerville Ultra Muzzle was designed by Dr Roger Mugford to protect against bites but not at the expense of his welfare or happiness. The Ultra Muzzle has a more flexible fit for dogs with wider noses and also allows the dog to eat whilst wearing it.

The ergonomically designed safety strapping ensures the muzzle will always remain securely in place and features two additional points of secure attachment.  The loop at the bottom attaches to your dog's regular collar and there is an optional, removable over-head safety strap. The Ultra Muzzle also has a secure metal buckle with pre-holed webbing, to ensure it is fully adjustable, quick and easy to fit. It is also 'treat friendly' allowing you to reward your dog whilst wearing it, essential during behaviour modification programmes.

Made from strong but maleable thermo plastic rubber (TPR), the muzzle can be moulded to best fit a dog's muzzle by warming in hot water then cooling in cold to create a broad muzzle for a boxer or a narrow muzzle for a Borzoi. Soft neoprene padding for extra comfort and overhead strap connects directly to the rear strap.

The classic box design Baskerville Muzzle is typically suitable for dogs with narrow noses. This traditional design prevents food scavenging and harmful self-licking.  This muzzle is perfect for handling and grooming, protection of wounds, supervised freedom for assertive dogs and preventing scavenging.

Tips & Advice

When first introducing the Baskerville Ultra, place food in your hand and allow the dog to eat through the muzzle – to encourage him to voluntarily put his nose into the muzzle.

Continue to do this until he is happy, at which point you can then secure the back strap, which should be sufficiently tight to prevent the dog from removing it.

It is useful to pre-locate the holes in the webbing strap to ensure it is easier to fit when on the dog. When fitted, there should be about ½ cm between the end of the dog’s nose and the end of the muzzle.

If you do not need to use the top strap, it can be removed.

Sizes are available in 1-6 and are for typical adult dogs and bitches. Juveniles may need a size smaller. it is important to have the correct fitting for every dog. Baskerville height must allow mouth to open inn panting; length must have 1 cm clear from end of nose.
